NADIR TO ZENITH Vol. 2
by Bill Hockney and Moe Gates
Anyone who longs to re-live the old
days when celestial navigation reigned
supreme, even in the high tech world
of aviation, will thoroughly enjoy these
books. The books are a collection of
stories by former RCAF navigators, and
cover the period from WWII to the present. There are lots of
stories about WWII bombing missions, the Korean Air Lift and
pioneering flights in the arctic. There is a fascinating story about a
U.S. Navy led expedition in a "lighter than air" ship, and narrated
by one of Canada'a foremost experts on arctic air navigation.
Many of the storytellers clearly have a talent as engaging raconteurs.
