COMMODORE COMPASSES
A compass to treasure! This liquid filled compass with
a solid bronze bezel is produced in the USA by craftsmen with an experience
lineage going back to 1907. Only the highest quality pivot and sapphire
jewel, plate glass, copper, brass, and bronze are used in their handcrafted
construction. And it works as well as it looks. Its powerful magnet quickly
aligns with north in even the weakest of fields (such as indoors), and
the damping liquid reduces overshoots to nil. The three inch diameter dial
is traditionally designed for beauty and authentic function.
The compass is available in two forms. The boxed model
is gimbaled in a mahogany box measuring 6.25x6.25x6.25 inches. The lid
is hinged. Ample room is available on either the front or top for a
brass engraving plate (not included) to be attached. The wooden base model
is inset in a solid wood mahogany finished base with the solid bronze bezel
as the predominant feature, and room for the engraving plate on the side.
Size of the base is 5.25x5.25x2 inches. SW 8 lbs
