iQue 3600 Garmin
At last, a GPS built right into a Palm Pilot. Before this,
you needed an external GPS connected by a cord to your PDA, or to put it into
a sleeve. Now, flip the antenna up (as shown above) and you have a fully functioning
WAAS enabled GPS. Flip the antenna down into its recessed area, and you have
a smooth surfaced, late model Palm Pilot running the Palm OS 5 operating system.
As a GPS, the iQue 3600 comes with a built-in basemap (see About Basemaps on
page 41) and a MapSource City Select CD Rom with a certificate to unlock the
city of your choice. This will give you turn-by-turn voice instructions right
out of the Palm Pilot to your destination. Garminšs highly acclaimed Blue Charts
can be downloaded from the Blue Chart MapSource CD for marine navigation. Up
to 50 routes with up to 50 waypoints each can be saved for later use. The Palm
Pilot will connect to your PC for upload download purposes through USB, infared,
or RS-232 cable. It is compatible with all of Garminšs many MapSource CDs.
As a Palm Pilot, with the antenna flipped down, it functions entirely as an organizer,
and will run any of the other programs designed for Palm devices. Examples in
this catalog might be CelestNav, Planetarium or Fugawi. In fact Fugawi (page
32) will allow many types of non-Garmin maps (such as NOAA ENC, Maptech, and
self-scannedt maps) to run on the iQue 3600.
Palm OS 5 applications are: Address
Book, Calculator, Date Book, Memo Pad and To Do List. Ten popular third party
applications are also embedded. Other hardware embedded features are an MP-3
player, microphone and voice recorder, clock (updated by GPS), headphone jack,
vibrating alarm and infared communications. The iQue 3600 comes with a protective
display cover, metal stylus, USB HotSync cradle, A/C power charging adapter,
Quick start guide, Installation/ application CD Rom with manual, and the MapSource
City Select CD with certificate. SW 5lbs |
